Grab your green gear (including, of course, green beer) and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all over the Lowcountry. From family-friendly gatherings to rockin’ shindigs, there’s plenty of Irish spirit to go around this weekend.

Grab the family (and maybe play hooky) to watch Charleston’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade which starts at 10 a.m. and features local schools, step dancers, fiddlers, and much more. The parade begins at King and Radcliffe Streets and proceeds down King to Broad. [event-2] Mac’s Place opens at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with live music all day both days. Danny May, Sauratown Irish fiddle duo, and Kevin Church play on Friday and Gracious Day, Marci Shore & Ted McKee Irish fiddle duo, and Donnie Diesel & Jeff Bateman play on Saturday. There will be giveaways and beads and green slap bracelets for every car bomb you buy.

Mt. Pleasant’s Mellow Mushroom location will have live music on Friday from 5-8 p.m. along with $3 Guinness pints and $5 Irish car bombs.

Cumberland St. Smokehouse celebrates on Friday and Saturday with $6 car bombs, $4 Guinness drafts, $4 Jameson, and $3 Bud Lite draft and a special Irish menu with corn beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, fish and chips, and barbecue Shepard’s pie.

Head to the Bus Shed for Pet Helpers oyster roast, featuring oysters (duh), beer and wine, dancing, and a puppy kissing booth. There will also be food trucks onsite.

Celebrate St. Patty’s at The Shelter on Friday and Saturday with drink specials: $3 Bud Light drafts and Bud Light aluminum bottles, $4 Shock Top drafts, Guinness cans, and Jameson and Caskmates, $5 Blue Point lager drafts, and $7 car bombs. DJ Moo Moo plays on Friday night and Return of the Mac and Liddle Ugleez play on Saturday.

Tommy Condon’s celebrates 35 years in Charleston with a whole weekend of festivities. Kick it off on Thurs. March 16 with a St. Patrick’s Day countdown, live music, and a midnight toast. The restaurant opens early on St. Patrick’s Day with kegs and eggs, an all day party with food specials and green beer until 2 a.m. There will be live music all weekend: Christian Carroll and the Bograts Thursday-Saturday and Kevin Church on Friday.

Get down at FILL Restaurant & Piano Bar in Mt. P with dueling piano shows on Friday, featuring plenty of Irish tunes. Drink specials include $1 green beer (Miller Lite), $2 Guinness, $3 Jameson, $3 Irish pancakes, $4 Irish car bombs, and $4 Luck of the Irish martinis.

Seanachai’s St. Patty’s day celebration lasts all weekend, starting at 11 a.m. on Friday. Head there for live music and chef’s specials including corned beef and cabbage. Saturday is family fun day and on Sunday Seanachai hosts a big ol’ brunch.

Mex 1 on Sullivan’s Island joins in the (unofficial) St. Patrick’s block party fun with live music from Ryan Becknell from 4-7 p.m. followed by the Return of the Mac, 8-11 p.m. Mex 1 will have an outside food and drink station set up for the block party from 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

Home Team BBQ on Sullivan’s hits the streets tomorrow, too, serving up a special menu from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. including corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes, and, of course, green Gamechangers.

Speaking of block parties, head to Avondale’s Triangle Char and Bar from noon-10 p.m. which features a Guinness truck, a car bomb tent, green beer, and Irish food specials. A DJ starts playin’ at 3:30 p.m. followed by live music from Plane Jane.

[event-3] On Friday you can listen to live music and enjoy drink specials like $3 Jameson and Guinness and $5 car bombs at Kingdom Bar & Grill.

It may not actually be on St. Patrick’s Day … but who’s counting? Red’s Ice House hosts Shamrock the Dock, kicking off at 2 p.m. on Sat. March 18. Check out drink specials and live music until midnight.
