Local garage punk-rock trio Anergy have been well-immersed in the local scene for a little while now, and so it’s with much anticipation that the band announces the release of their debut single, “Not My President.” Out on Sat. June 10, the single’s subject matter obviously touches on a certain politician.
“It focuses on the frustrations that are felt by many people throughout the country with our current system of government,” says drummer, vocalist, and songwriter Gabe Segarra. “Rather than taking aim at a specific individual or party, the song is intended to have a unifying message that the youth of America are involved in politics and, regardless of political beliefs, care about the future.”
The track is set to be broadcast on 98Rock and available via all major platforms, like iTunes and Spotify. It was recorded and mixed by Matt Tuton at Right or Wrong Recordings and mastered by Ocean Industries’ Eric Rickert.
An accompanying video for “Not My President” was produced by Aether Motion Videography.
