Trotters Restaurant

West Ashley. 2008 Savannah Hwy. 571-0027

If you’ve got grandparents coming to town and you’d like to beat them at their own game — taking you out to a real “fancy restaurant” when you visit them — it’s time to head to Trotters. The restaurant, located adjacent to the lobby of the Town & Country Inn and Convention Center in West Ashley, is hugely popular with families across the Lowcountry for its no-hassle, all-you-can-eat spreads. Wednesday nights feature a “lavish” Italian buffet, Friday is seafood and prime rib night, and while they serve breakfast every day of the week, Sunday afternoons (12-2:30 p.m.) are reserved for brunch, complete with stuff-your-own omelets and hand-carved roast beef and ham. Sundays are also the best Trotters people-watching days, as the room fills with women and men decked out in a wide variety of flamboyant church finery. So go ahead, give Grandpa something to brag to his golfing buddies about when he heads back home.
