The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, with over 500 artists and exhibitors plying their wares to over 40,000 attendees, is the nation’s largest wildlife and art event — not to mention a critical part of Charleston’s annual tourism income. SEWE celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, again hosting three days of wildlife art, experts, presentations, and perhaps most importantly, parties. Sure, all the traffic turns downtown into a bit of a mess, but when the main goals of the expo are conservation and environmental education, it makes it easy to grin and bear it.
