It must be the “test man.” That’s what Verizon calls the omnipresent “Can you hear me now?” guy in their commercials — who, by the way, is not always the “test man.” The 37-year-old actor is named Paul Marcarelli, and it seems Verizon asked him to sign some kind of silence clause, because he’s yet to do one single interview about playing the “test man.” While they may not be spouting catchphrases in their daily work, real-life test men and women drive over 100,000 miles each year to make sure Verizon’s network is keeping you in touch with your loved ones. Perhaps that’s why they took over the Best Cellphone Provider category from longtime winner SunCom in 2006 and continued their reign this year. Ah yes, now we can hear you. And everyone else can, too.
