Southern Belles

Mt. Pleasant. 280 W. Coleman Blvd. 881-1741

Southern Belles owner Susie Molony is a Charleston native who’s been selling children’s clothing for over 20 years now. But she didn’t always have the store on West Coleman Boulevard; Molony began Southern Belles as a home-based/mobile business, selling a line she herself designed at home shows and fund-raisers for six years or so. She eventually moved into a corner of Kid Stuff (the store that once occupied the building where Southern Belles is now), then became a three-way partner in the ownership of the store until one partner opted out and the other moved next door, leaving Molony with her very own space to display all sorts of unbelievably cute (and giftable) children’s clothing, like these Kidorable bumblebee boots and umbrella (there’s matching raincoats and backpacks available at the store, too). A strong buzz, indeed.
