N. Charleston. 7618 Rivers Ave. 818-WING
Perhaps the most consistently busy bar and restaurant on this busy commercial strip of Rivers Avenue, the North Charleston Wild Wing rocks all week long. More of a big-room family atmosphere, perhaps, than the other locations in Mt. Pleasant and downtown, the place stays full for lunch, happy hour, and dinner, with kids and parents hanging out in the two main dining rooms, nibblig wings, burgers, and fried fare almost all the way up to show time (9:30 p.m. or so). Live bands and acoustic solo acts perform an upbeat mix of classic and modern rock, pop country, and blues on the large corner stage. Just off the main entrance and foyer, a crowded bar area to the right stays loud and with sports fans watching the games on the numerous TV sets. It’s quite a scene.
