I’m off to the American Theater for the premiere of Charleston Stage Company’s Denmark Vesey: Insurrection at the moment, followed by the opening reception for the Gibbes Museum’s Rodin exhibit. The weather’s looking reasonably good for tomorrow’s opening ceremony at City Hall: mostly sunny and a balmy 80 degrees.Yesterday afternoon I recorded Buzzcast #4 with The Have Nots!, and only this afternoon sat down for #5 with the creative team behind Cabaret Kiki and the Dangerous Strangers. I hope to have one or both of those up here by tomorrow. In the meantime, let me recommend you buy tickets now for the Foundry Theatre’s Major Bang: or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Dirty Bomb. I just finished writing a preview feature about that show for next week’s paper – and it’s near the top of the Lowbrow’s “most anticipated” list for the festival. I’ll be indulging the many requests I’ve had for a Spoleto ’07 Must See list in this space in the morning. In the meantime, get yourself into the mood for Major Bang with the following clip.
