Although it’ll be sad to bid adieu to the late-night gatherings, the hearty guffaws, and the strange and wonderful conversations with out-of-towners, it would be ridiculous to say that there won’t be some sighs of relief among the gaggle of comedians who will unite for Saturday night’s Fringe Finale.

“It’s the end, it’s a celebration, it’s the closing,” says Have Not! Brandy Sullivan, who’s been busy not just performing, but keeping everything running smoothly throughout this year’s daunting Piccolo Fringe line-up.

For the finale, the Have Nots! will hop onstage and invite any of the visiting acts still in town to join them and the rest of the Theatre 99 family members for a balls-out, two-hour onslaught of hilarity. This year, the special guests are expected to include members of the Upright Citizens Brigade TourCo and the fellas from The Cody Rivers Show, who will perform snippets of their respective shows during the first half of the finale.

Sullivan mentions that just about everyone with a tie to Theatre 99 will do bits from their Piccolo shows, too, a roster that includes HOBO The Musical, Banana Monologues, Moral Fixation, Big Dicktionary, and more.

They’ll wrap the whole thing up with an hour of long-form improv, which always turns into a laugh-a-second jamboree of comedy, with everyone crisscrossing the stage frantically and cracking up in the process. The finale’s always a hot ticket, so make sure to secure one early if you’re intrigued by the thought of watching many funny people release two weeks’ worth of stress at once.

“It’s got a different vibe,” Sullivan says. “It’s always really interesting to play with people you’re not used to playing with, and it’s also got that punchy, exhausted excitement running through it. It’ll be fun!” —Sara Miller
