The week of July 4th is typically one of the most fun weeks of the summer and this year was no exception. On Tuesday night, I went to Mistral and mingled with and listened to the Rudy Waltz Duo. Wednesday was a mandatory beach day and I battled the traffic to get out to Folly Beach. It was well worth the trouble because it was an absolutely perfect beach day. We stopped by Joe Riley Stadium on Saturday to see Stephen Colbert plug his new Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. A huge storm was the quick demise of that event. The Dine for the Charleston Nine Fundraiser on Sunday night at Charleston Place was definitely the highlight of the week’s events. The event sold out and about 1,300 folks crowded the grand ballroom at Charleston Place to pay tribute to the fallen firefighters. They helped raise money through ticket sales and auctions for the families of the victims. On Monday afternoon, I attended the GREENS Fundraiser to support my friend who works for Lowcountry Earth Force. It was a great event that was very informative and showed off the hard work of some of the great kids that live in our area.
