Last week the fun started on Thursday night with a trip to Tommy Condon’s Irish Bar to see Steve Carroll & The Bograts. I was so impressed with the band that I ended up singing and clapping along, despite my disdain for Irish jigs. Speaking of jigs, Steve’s son tore up the fiddle with a mean rendition of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Friday, I made a trip to the big roundabout at Seabrook and Kiawah Islands for a Bastille Day Celebration. Although I arrived before the crowd showed up, it looked like it was going to be a chichi affair. Later on, I hit CFADA’s Palette & Palate Stroll downtown. Each gallery served food from a different upscale restaurant and garnered an attractive crowd of art lovers on the prowl for great food and worthwhile art. On Sunday, I couldn’t resist seeing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on the big IMAX screen. It sold out for the whole weekend, and the crowd, which included a few wizards, was huge.
