Teri Hatcher with Badgley and MischkaMost of us (women, anyway) have certain designer’s names ingrained in our minds after years of poring over fashion and celebrity rags filled with clothes, shoes, and jewels we could never hope to afford. Badgley Mischka is one of those companies. Mark Badgley and James Mischka are known for their elegant, luxurious clothes inspired by ’40s Hollywood glamour, and they’ve been a staple for starlets since the ’80s. And now they’re coming to Charleston. On Sept. 26, they’re unveling their Resort ’08 line at Saks Fifth Avenue with a personal appearance and fashion show at the Riviera. The show will include sportswear, platinum, couture, and fur collections. The reception following the show, at Saks, will feature a silent auction benefitting Darkness to Light. The event is free but invitation-only, for Saks clients and Darkness to Light sponsors (and lucky members of the press), but if you can’t get in, at least have fun playing Paparazzi out on King St. I’m hoping I’ll be able to play dress-up that day and get pictures for your enjoyment.
