So, I’m in San Francisco right now. Had a nice meal last night at a new place here called Fish and Farm. They embrace the 100-mile concept and all the food is sustainable and organic. Very California and very good.

Tonight I’m heading to Las Vegas and will be visiting Louis Osteen’s new place in Vegas. Has anybody been to Louis’s out there yet? What do you think about a Lowcountry chef staking a claim in the new culinary capital of the United States? Do you have any favorite Vegas restaurants?

We’re going to hit Thomas Keller’s Bouchon. Got a recommendation from John T. Edge of the Southern Foodways Alliance. In his words: “The damn Bouchon in the Venetian is great, esp for breakfast.” Don’t know if you can get a better rec than that.
