Twenty-six years ago, the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition was started as a “small winter diversion,” but looking at the number of events scheduled for this year’s SEWE, that’s hard to believe. Since then, SEWE has grown into the nation’s “largest wildlife art and nature event,” bringing with it three days of art, presentations, and parties, not to mention plenty of four-legged and fowl-loving fun. Tickets are still available, but don’t dilly dally to the box office or the telephone; they’re predicted to sell out fast.

Despite the 40,000 SEWE attendees expected to converge on Charleston this weekend, VIP tickets are still available. These, unlike the three-day and day passes, may only be purchased over the phone: (843) 723-1748. There are different levels of VIP tickets (Patron, Benefactor, Bronze, Silver, Gold) which provide increasing numbers of tickets to special events, like the very popular Saturday Night Soiree (be sure to check out exactly what each package includes online). Advance day passes (both of the three- and one-day variety) are available at the Charleston Visitors Center (375 Meeting St.), Gaillard Auditorium (77 Calhoun St.), Mt. P/IOP Visitor Center (311 Johnnie Dodds Blvd.), Kiawah Island Visitor Center (200 Beachwalker Drive), and the North Charleston and American LaFrance Fire Museum (4975-B Centre Point Drive). During SEWE, day passes can be purchased at Charleston Place (130 Market St.), Gaillard Auditorium (77 Calhoun St.), Marion Square (Corner of Calhoun and King streets), and Brittlebank Park (Lockwood Blvd.).
