There’s no shortage of oddball scenesters at this popular, unpretentious bar, grill, and indie music venue. Shawn Krauss, lanky drummer of local pop/rock band The Specs, can usually be spotted slingin’ suds, recommending newly-distributed high-gravity beers, mixing “Mt. Pleasant Car Bombs,” and pouring pints. He’ll even shake your hand from behind the V-shaped bar (if you tip) at the end of your session. The mix of artists and musicians at a big gig at the Tavern can be as colorful and weird as the array of framed band posters and flyers hung across the rooms.
