Katherine Mullins started her business in her home, designing clothes primarily for friends. As the orders started pouring in, she opened a little shop upstairs at 231 King St., drawing local ladies-in-the-know looking for tailored, vintage-inspired clothes with feminine touches. The young designer’s popularity continued to grow, with mentions in everything from Charleston magazine to Lucky, and with the recent opening of another store up the street at 324 King, the secret’s pretty much out. Check out the older, upstairs location for sales and bridal-wear, and the newer shop for her current collection. What we want to know is when she is going to try out for Project Runway.
