The consignment racks at Ye Olde are a veritable treasure trove of old guitars. They may be dinged up and scratched, but that’s just a sign of being loved on, and they’re priced to go. Recent finds include a ’70s-era Alvarez acoustic with the sweet strumming tone of a new Taylor (for $150), a nylon-string Yamaha classical that just needed some simple wiring for its onboard electronics, and a $100 Aria Pro, solid-body electric with the tone of an old Stratocaster. Ye Olde’s also got the best prices on guitar strings in town and a two-man staff who live and breathe music — they’re worth the quick jaunt up I-26.
