Few places around here do Christmas the way Park Circle does. Each December, the businesses and organizations in the Park Circle area decorate the plot of land that surrounds the traffic circle with Xmas displays. Yeah, it all has a certain low-fi feel to it — none of the displays are going to wow you with their technical or artistic brilliance — and that’s all for the better. We’ll take the heartfelt and the handcrafted over the calculated and commissioned any day. And best of all, the end result of all of this light stringing is a truly trippy affair, one on par with the final segment of 2001 — that is, if it was shot by your next door neighbor using a camcorder and a few glow sticks, a strobe light, and a Lite Brite set. ‘Tis the season to be jolly.
