The Exhibition

July 11–31, 2007. Robert Lange Studios.

Robert Lange is an acute observer of the little things in life. He’s partly known for taking everyday objects like a bottle of Red Stripe beer or an apple with its label on and giving them the attention to detail usually reserved for the “Mona Lisa” set. In last summer’s The Exhibition, he brought his observational skills to bear on collectors and visitors to his East Bay gallery. He painted viewers avidly looking at paintings, all within one frame and slicked with a hyper-realist sheen. The results were excellent and gave some Charleston notables a chance to admire themselves admiring outstanding works of art.
