Lake Isabella at the City Paper Parking Lot

Corner of Morrison Drive and Isabella Street. Downtown.

You know, Strom Thurmond might not have been all rah-rah about white folk and black folk swimming in the same pool, but he was a racist ass, so let’s just forget about him. Speaking of desegregated swimming holes, well, you should come on down to the City Paper parking lot after a thunderstorm — heck, even a drizzle will do. The whole thing is nearly flooded. You may not be able to swim laps, but you could certainly cool off. (Not that we would suggest that. It’s a pretty foul stew.)

Stay cool. Support City Paper.
