Charleston Moves began because a handful of local bicyclists were worried about their safety on Lowcountry roads. It’s true — many of our roadways require iron balls to traverse on a ten-speed, even before the days of text-and-drive. After helping to secure “Wonder’s Way,” the bike lane across the Ravenel Bridge, Charleston Moves gained a new spotlight. They continue to be our city’s leading voice advocating “complete streets” that include safe bicycle lanes, and they’re working on completing a “green way” from West Ashley through downtown and on up the East Coast. Because the most responsible, least polluting way from point A to B shouldn’t cost you an arm, a leg, or your head.
