Campaign filing started today. We’ll be updating as often as possible on candidate filings, but we wanted to pass on early reports over the weekend that Tom Davis, one of Gov. Mark Sanford’s closest allies, confirmed he was considering challenging fellow Republican Catherine Ceips for her state Senate seat representing a large chunk of Beaufort County.
For those who are following the reports of a shadowy “hit list” of soft legislators targeted by Sanford for replacement, you’ve probably already noticed that Ceips’ name wasn’t on at least one list that has made the rounds.
The reasoning may have been because at least one rumored author told us several years ago that he was crushing on Ceips.
