What is it? A bluegrass hoe-down of dancing, singing, and hot pickin’ for the whole family.

Why see it? Local group Yeehaw Junction play some fine mountain music and have been a hit at events like Johns Island’s Harvestfest each year. Led by folk singer/emcee Kathie Livingston at this performance, they’ll have you do-si-do-ing and swingin’ yer partner to the sound of fiddle, banjo, mandolin, upright bass, and guitar. The old-timey feel of the Farmhouse Pavilion should nicely accentuate the vibe.

Who should go? Bluegrass lovers and parents looking for a fun (and free!) event where the kids can really let loose.

PICCOLO AT THE PONDS • Free • June 1, 6:30-9 p.m.• Farmhouse Pavilion on The Ponds, 326 Hundred Oaks Parkway, Summerville • (888) 374-2656
