What is it? The Musical Trio from Jerusalem performs a concert in honor of the 60th anniversary of the State of Israel.
Why see it? World-class clarinettist Roman Kekhman returns to Charleston with friends to celebrate the anniversary of the State of Israel with their wonderful blend of Israeli folk and Klezmer music. The College of Charleston’s Jewish Choral Society will kick things off followed by a regular tradition of A World of Jewish Culture at Piccolo Spoleto, KKBE’s Koleinu. Violinist Yuriy Bekker (pictured), concertmaster of the CSO, performs in recital as well.
Who should go? This presents a wonderful opportunity to hear some of the most deeply emotive and joyously exuberant music of any folk tradition. And what an auspicious anniversary to celebrate!
