What is it? An opportunity to cruise the harbor with a swingin’ soundtrack.
Why see it? Franklin Ashley Quartet, led by College of Charleston music professor Franklin Ashley, play traditional bebop, swing, and standards on May 28. John Tecklenburg & Friends play a mellow set of smooth jazz and instrumental pop on May 29. The Rolling on the River Review on June 4 features local pianist Oscar Rivers and his blues/soul/jazz combo. Vocalist Rob Keiter and his combo deliver some guitar-driven lounge/jazz tunes on June 5. Boarding at the Fountain Walk Dock begins at 7:30 p.m.
Who should go? Tourists and rookie Charlestonians (or “cum’yahs”) who haven’t yet enjoyed getting out on the waters off of the peninsula and casual jazz fans.
