Bill Murray: beloved comedy legend, movie icon … and cheating, wife-beating substance abuser? Say it ain’t so, Bill. The co-owner of the Charleston RiverDogs, who has a home on Sullivan’s Island, has been accused of all of these things by his wife of 11 years, Jennifer Murray. These accusations are coming by way of divorce papers, obvi. Here’s some of the dirt, from the AP report.

“The complaint, which doesn’t specify instances of Murray’s alleged marijuana or alcohol use, alleges he would often leave without telling his wife and says he “travels overseas where he engages in public and private altercations and sexual liaisons.”

It also alleges Murray physically abused his wife and last November “hit her in the face and then told her she was ‘lucky he didn’t kill her.’ “

This kind of dashes my hopes of running into Bill on the beach and happily reminiscing about the old days. I can’t help but hold out hope that none of it’s true, even though his history doesn’t help him out much.
