TRATTORIA LUCCA DELAYED
Last week’s intended opening date of Ken Vedrinksi’s downtown Trattoria was delayed, and he’s hoping to be open this week. We suggest you call the restaurant to make sure they’re open before you head down there. (843) 973-3323. —Stephanie Barna
LUNCH AT BACCO, SATURDAY BRUNCH
AT FAT HEN
Demand for daytime dining options is always high, and two favorites have stepped in to the void. Fat Hen, already open for lunch and Sunday brunch, has listened to its customers and started serving Saturday brunches too. Johns Islanders will surely be happy to pack the place. Over in Mt. Pleasant, Bacco has decided to open for lunch. Chef/owner Michael Scognamiglio says they’re ready to tackle lunches now that they’ve been open for a year. The lunch menu will feature antipasti, insalate, panini, pizza, and pasta. They’ll be serving lunch Tuesdays through Fridays. They’re located at 976 Houston Northcutt Blvd. —Stephanie Barna
BRIGG-ING HIM BACK
Laura Albert’s Tasteful Options has seen a lot of changes since it first opened six years ago. When it began, the Daniel Island restaurant had a one-page menu. Now, thanks in part to new Executive Chef Matthew Brigham, it has four pages. Brigham is bringing experience from Carolina’s and The Terrace, adding his own spice to Laura Albert’s Lowcountry fare with a contemporary flair. They are also in the process of expanding their dining room. But it’s not completely “out with the old and in with the new.” Co-owner Laura Leppert still makes their dips and desserts. —Alison Sher
NEW CHEF AT THE DINING ROOM
Chef Tarver King has moved from his post at the Woodlands to take a new job at Hilltoppers restaurant in northern Virginia, where he’s originally from. King’s Sous Chef Nate Whiting has been promoted to be the
AAA Five Diamond restaurant’s new exec. Congrats to Nate and good luck to Tarver. This is good for us, ’cause it means we get to go back to Woodlands, a place we don’t visit often enough. For more information about Woodlands, or to make dining
reservations, call (800) 774-9999 or visit
