City Councilman Wendell Gilliard has left the building. The winner of a seat in the statehouse resigned his city office early last week and a special election has been called for Tuesday, Feb. 3. Filing for the seat opens on Nov. 28 and closes at the end of business Dec. 8. There’s a $150 filing fee and can be submitted at the McNair Law Firm, 100 Calhoun St. For more info, call 723-7831.
