On the eve of the third annual Made in Italy fashion show on Thursday, the columns of Hibernian Hall were lit up like the Italian flag. And brrr it was COLD! Inside, thawing guests climbed the winding stairs like Prince Charmings and Cinderellas, to mingle around the runway, and enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres from Il Cortile del Re. Yum! Behind the scenes, it was a bit more hectic. Swanky clothes hung on racks, pictures of models and notes were scribbled and pinned up on every flat surface, and the stunning models themselves huddled nervously in groups — that is when they weren’t down in the dungeon for Stella Nova hair and make-up. Charleston magazine style editor Ayoka Lucas, emceed the charity fashion show, as models hit the runway showcasing fall wear from Hampden Clothing, V2V, Cose Belle, Luxe Boutique, Susan Michelle Shoes, and Suite Sole. There was one little Janet Jackson moment, but overall the show was an edgy fashion treat for a good cause. My favorite round-up was at the end — hot male models in tight black briefs escorted their fashionable ladies. Italian grapestuffers. Ooh-la-la! —Svetlana Minx
