Appropriately enough for an event taking place at the Aquarium, the Grand Ball was a sloshy affair. Revelers walked among the fish tanks, keeping hydrated with drinks from the open bars at every corner and noshing on Lowcountry-themed food like fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits. Quiana Parler and friends were rocking out from the get-go, and it didn’t take long to get the dancing started. By the end of the night, the dance floor was covered in puddles of booze, as everyone sloppily clinked their glasses to ring in 2009. The black-tie event, hosted by Snyder Event Rentals and Clear Channel Radio, had everyone dressed to the nines, but some folks’ get-ups got me contemplating a best and worst dressed list for future events (see below). Happy 2009, everyone. Glub, glub.
