It’s not a festival. It’s a contest. Who can make the best short film featuring an edition of The Post and Courier? That’s what the 28 Day Film Contest is all about. The webpage asks Charleston’s small but passionate coterie of “hipsters, beatniks, auteurs, geeks, freaks, hustlers, and other film personae” to give it a try. Make a video that’s under seven minutes, including the credits. Feature a copy of the paper that’s from Jan. 30 to Feb. 27. And send it to The Post and Courier. The winner gets $500 and a screening at the Charleston International Film Festival. I’m imagining the paper is looking for a stylish commercial. I could be wrong. I probably am. Anyway, check it out. —John Stoehr
