The close race between Congressman Henry Brown and Democrat Linda Ketner in November has led the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to invest money in local attack ads against Brown for his vote against the House stimulus plan, according to a Stuart, Fla., newspaper.

The campaign, expected to last a week on radio, email and in some cases telephone calls, notes that Republicans helped bail out banks and rebuilding Iraq, but as a group they voted against President Obama’s recovery plan.

Possibly suggestive of the DCCC’s optimisim, Brown is the only South Carolina congressman targeted in the ads. None are targeted in Georgia or North Carolina.
