Apparently, Santi’s, our favorite neighborhood Mexican joint, expanded to a second location in Summerville ten months ago and forgot to tell anybody! Or at least we didn’t seem to know, which is weird considering that the downtown Santi’s is a hop, skip, and a jump from our offices and hence a regular stop on the lunch tour.
The Summerville Santi’s has the same menu as downtown — so you can get your favorites like the chimichangas, Guisado de Puerco, chicken mole, and enchiladas verdes. Two cooks from downtown have been dispatched to run the Summerville kitchen and make sure that the quality remains equal to the original.
If you’re up that way, we highly recommend that you stop in and give it a shot. I think there’s actually a two-for-one coupon running in the City Paper (or at least there was last week).
