Wine and chocolate. The two best ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Avondale Wine and Cheese, Alchemy Coffee, and Slow Food Charleston, will host a chocolate and wine affair. Wines will be paired with chocolate made by local chocolatier Johnny Battles of Sweet Teeth. Raffle tickets will be drawn to award some lucky attendees a private wine, cheese, and chocolate tasting for 10, a magnum of wine, and a box of chocolates from Sweet Teeth. If things get a little too crazy and you don’t think you can handle all the aphrodisiacs, you should probably head to bed or walk over to Alchemy Coffee, which will be hosting its own party right across the street with live music, more desserts, and specialty coffee. A portion of the proceeds will go toward Slow Food Charleston. —Hadley Lyman FRIDAY
