2008 has been a year of adventure for local rock trio Leslie — writing songs in L.A., recording in Memphis, touring with everyone from drivin n’ cryin’ and the Donnas to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Will Hoge, hobnobbing with Tropic Thunder folks, and trash-talking with Dante’s Camaro via YouTube. The trio’s most significant accomplishment of 2008 might be the five-night Move for a Change series at the Village Tavern in April. It was an all-ages, free-of-charge blow-out benefitting a variety of local charities and featuring a pile of local acts. Talk about supporting the scene — these guys mean it and always back it up.
