Music Farm

Charleston-based indie-rock Band of Horses headlined a special event at the Music Farm last year — a “fan appreciation night” co-sponsored by City Paper and Jack Daniel’s. Billed also as the Jack Daniel’s Studio No. 7 show, fans participated in a free online ticket giveaway. The Horses were hot off the road after touring for a month in support of the critically acclaimed Cease to Begin (Sub Pop), last year’s follow-up to the 2007 break-through album Everything All the Time (Sub Pop). The bearded frontman and main songwriter Ben Bridwell led drummer Creighton Barrett, guitarist Rob Hampton, the newly-enlisted Bill Reynolds (on bass), Tyler Ramsey (on multiple instruments), and Ryan Monroe (on keys) through a boisterous set that demonstrated pure appreciation and joy. Hopefully, they’ll do an encore gig this spring!
