Raul’s Seafood Market

100 Church St. Mt. Pleasant

(843) 388-8046

Co-owners Bobby Carroll and Kimberly Morales and sales manager Duane Mecca celebrated a grand opening in December when Raul’s Seafood Market relocated from its previous spot farther down Shem Creek (near what locals call the Geechee Dock) to this cozy and newly renovated store at the foot of the Shem Creek bridge. The little building previously housed the office for the Aggressor Sportsfishing company (which is still in operation). The entrance is just off Coleman Boulevard and Mill Street (aim for the old Trawler’s lighthouse). The owners handle their own boats and load their daily catches directly onto the dock by the shop’s entrance, so most of their shrimp and blue crab inventory is as fresh as can be. Raul’s also features a variety of freshly caught fish, snow crab legs, scallops, tuna steaks, lump crab meat, and Bulls Bay clams from the Livingston company in McClellanville.
