The ReStore on Meeting Street is a convenient stop on our way home from City Paper HQ, and we love browsing their always-changing selection of cheap furniture, kitchenware, appliances, and more. But our favorite section is the books, in the back of the store. You’ll find a treasure trove of musty old books, many with the original dust jackets still intact. From tiny French novellas from the 1890s, to 1950s crime and romance novels with colorful, kitschy covers, you’ll find all kinds of titles to spice up your bookshelf. That is, if we haven’t snatched them up first. Did we mention they generally cost less than five bucks?
