One of only a few actual Lowcountry natives in local television news (she’s from the Awendaw area), award-winning weekend anchor and field reporter Octavia Mitchell has been a major contributor on WCBD’s Count on 2 News team for five years. She’s fine-tuned her delivery and style to a high standard of excellence, along with those high eyebrows and the occasional strong grin. We hear that Mitchell can play some pretty tough hardball when researching news stories off camera, but on screen, she’s consistently cheerful, striking a nice balance between serious and upbeat.
