The Charleston Symphony Orchestra Gospel Choir’s new music director Sandra Barnhardt has a few things lined up for us. On Sat. March 14 at the Ashley River Baptist Church, the choir holds a fundraising concert performing African-American Sacred Songs II. Showtime is at 5 p.m. The concert features the major areas of the gospel music: salvation and deliverance, faith and conviction, blessing and benediction.

You won’t find a better way to get your blessings in by enjoying some soulful gospel and donating money for a good cause; a sure way to get on anyone’s good side.

Tickets are $10 (cash only) and are available at the Gaillard Box Office on 77 Calhoun St., Mon.-Fri., from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tickets are also available at the church one hour before the performance. For more, call (919) 923-2791 or go to www.csogospel.com. —Reina Gascon-Lopez
