Local film director Devin Dukes has won a place in the Charleston International Film Festival with his spoof on regional public television shows called The Merkin Man. The fictitious show, “Gettin’ Around The Lowcountry” visits local tycoon, Justice P. Courtney. Courtney makes a solid living by selling Spanish moss merkins to tourists. For those of you who don’t know what merkin is, it’s a wig made out of pubic hair. Even more shocking, these disgusting creations are still in use today!
