The 2009-’10 schedule is up for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and it features fewer gues artists, more reliance on the orchestra’s musicians, repeat performances of Pops and Backstage Pass concerts, and more events planned for Memminger Auditorium. Here are a few to expect:
At the Gaillard Auditorium:
Sept. 26, 7 p.m. Gershwin, highlights from Porgy and Bess
Nov. 14, 8 p.m. Haydn, Trumpet Concerto in E-flat: Karin Bliznik, trumpet
Jan. 16, 2010, 8 p.m. Mendelssohn, Violin Concerto: Yuriy Bekker, Violin
Feb. 6, 2010, 8 p.m. All-Mozart celebrate: Mozart’s greatest hits
Feb. 27, 2010, 8 p.m. Mozart, Horn Concerto No. 2: Brandon Nichols, horn
April 17, 2010, 8 p.m. Haydn, The Creation
For the McCrady’s Charleston Pops Series at the Memminger Auditorium:
Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays and feature. Special guests include Quentin Baxter and his Jazz Trio on March 12-13, 2010.
For the Backstage Pass Series at the Memminger Auditorium:
Performances will be held Thursdays.
