[image-1]Seems like folks are finally catching on to what ladies love (and it’s not Cool J): champagne, cupcakes, and pretty clothes. And while any good trunk show is going to catch our attention, when you throw in champagne and cupcakes, you pretty much guarantee an enthusiastic, frothing-at-the-mouth crowd of fashionistas. There are two events taking place next week that combine all of the above fabulousness.
On Thurs. April 16, Thera M. on Daniel Island hosts a trunk show with Marysia, the winner of Charleston Fashion Week’s Emerging Designer Competition. Pick out some of the designer’s signature retro swimwear while sipping on champagne and chomping on cupcakes. OK, the snacks may not really help your bikini diet plans, but we guarantee you’ll enjoy them. The event lasts from 2-7 p.m.
Head to Francis Marion Hotel on Sat. April 18 for an event hosted by Dianne Shaver and Suzette Latsko, authors of Bride’s Advisor Charleston, Everything You Need to Create Your Dream Wedding in Charleston. They’ll be signing copies of their books (priced specially for the event) and answering questions. Local merchants involved in the wedding industry will also be in attendance. Mary Norton will feature her new line of bridal bags and shoes, Mac & Murphy will have some of their wedding invitations on display, and stylists from Stuart Lawrence Salon will be on hand to discuss bridal hair styles. The event lasts from 3:30-5 p.m.
