There has been a lot of talk about companies to boycott due to their support for a gay marriage ban in California. This is not like the pointless ban in South Carolina. The Calif. ban, which narrowly won approval in November, invalidated the weddings of gays and lesbians who’d traveled to the state from across the country, including couples from Charleston.
While researching another topic entirely, we stumbled upon BustTheBlacklist.com, which is a site to encourage opponents of gay marriage to support those business owners who have faced boycotts and protests because they contributed financially to the California ban’s success.
Just happened to notice on their list that the theater group Cinemark was included. The theater chain is facing a boycott because the CEO contributed to the marriage ban initiative. A link to the Cinemark page lists a Summerville location on Ladson Road. Now we know where not to go when we want to see a movie.
