Spoleto Festival USA has mucho tickets to sell, particularly for the American premiere of Don John by Britain’s Kneehigh Theatre. To get the word out, Spoleto designed this logo. It plans to put it on stickers, posters, tickets, and whatever physical object that gets circulated in the population. Shepard Fairey, Charleston’s most famous pop artist at the moment, did something similar with his “Obey” stickers. And of course his famous image of Barack Obama is now the subject of a suit and countersuit between him and the Associated Press. Fairey admits the AP photo was the source of his “Hope.” Don John is an updated version of the Don Juan myth, the classic story of the ultimate profligate. The American debut promises to be an awesome show. For more on that, go to spoletousa.org. —JS
