Writer and painter Joan Alden is having an art opening at Alchemy Coffee tonight from 6-9 p.m. Alden has published three novels and a children’s book. She also teaches part-time at the Citadel. Robert Widlowski and Ian Gwinnup, members of the band Kano Jones, will provide original music. —Emma Hart
