Shine hosts its first Arts & Music Festival, complete with a cookout, this Saturday from 2 p.m. ’til Charleston’s bedtime the next morning. This great excuse to have a party and celebrate the start of Spoleto comes out of the minds and hands of Shine owners Misty and Dean Johnson, as well as Charleston’s beloved artists and musicians. The festival also gives us all a good opportunity to view Found Objects, Installations, and Other Things, an exhibition of contemporary mixed media art made from sustainable materials, hosted in conjunction with the Margo Kaufman Gallery. Along with the art, there will be scrumptious burgers, hotdogs, and pulled barbecue chicken prepared by Chef Dillon Snider for sale. Some local artists you might know? Kaminer Haislip, Carl Jones, Daniel McSweeney, Kevin Hoth, DJ Joeski, The Drap, and Shooting Darts as well as visiting acts Dusted Silver of Boulder, DJ Brayks of Orlando, and The Soul Mites of Columbia will all be there. All this for just five buckaroonies.
