This Saturday, May 30, join the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project to take action against the pollution of our lovely Southern shores. The cleanup will not only be beneficial to the environment, but also to all participants as they are invited to The Porch at Center Street Kitchen to party afterwards. All volunteers can rock out with the Rawberry Jam band and enjoy free food and drinks and plenty of Barefoot wine as they are rewarded for their good deeds. And if you can’t make it out to do the dirty work, they’ll still let you come to the party, but it’s $8 to join in the fun. Charleston Waterkeeper, the Surfrider Foundation, and Barefoot Wine want to maintain a clean beach, and they will be counting each piece of litter to tally the average amount of trash left by visitors for their campaign, Rise Against Plastics. Lend a hand or two and be fulfilled in more ways than one. The cleanup is from 3-5:30 p.m. and the festivities take place from 6-8 p.m. Register here. Check-in will be under the pier at Folly. —Anna Linesch
