Just a warning to all you superstitious people: there’s gonna be a full moon on Sunday night. You may want to stay in with the doors locked tight. Or you may want to head over to Avondale to howl with fellow revelers. That is, if you’re into costumes, communal body painting, live entertainment, and, you know – general insanity. Voodoo‘s Lunacy party has been going on for a few months now, but this month’s is going to be especially batty as it’s the last one that will be held in 2009. It’s not that the idea hasn’t taken off. It’s that the idea has been such a success that Voodoo has to tame themselves for a few months to come back bigger and better than ever in 2010. Once again, DJ D-Rock will be performing, joined by Matt Blaster and special guests. When the sun goes down, the party’s up. A $3 cover gets you in the door, what you do after that is limited only to your imagination. If you’re feeling a little shy, never fear, Lunatic drink specials will be waiting to help you shed inhibitions (and possibly a few items of clothing). This is no event for the prudish, and Voodoo wants you to know that they’re not responsible for any shenanigans you crazy kids might get into. But they will help you get a way home if you’ve had one too many.
