Led by singer/guitarist Jakob Dylan, veteran alt-rock band The Wallflowers hit the road this summer behind a new compilation album titled A Collection: 1996-2005 (Interscope/UMe), featuring 14 of the Los Angeles group’s hit songs (including “One Headlight”), plus two unreleased tracks. The current lineup includes Dylan, Rami Jaffee (keyboards) Greg Richling (bass), Fred Eltringham (drums/vocals), and Stuart Mathis (guitar).

The tour swings through S.C. on Sat July 11 for a concert at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, then returns on Tues. Sept. 1 for a concert at the Family Circle Tennis Center‘s new Veranda stage on Daniel Island (161 Seven Farms Drive, 843-849-5300). The Veranda can accommodate 2,500 fans with general admission floor and bleacher seating. Concert-goers can access the venue through the main gate in front of Family Circle Stadium.

Tickets for the Charleston gig are on sale now for $22.50. See familycirclecup.com and myspace.com/thewallflowers for more.
